Mark and Debbie Taylor are BCM Missionaries assigned to Mount Traber Bible Camp. Mount Traber is a non-denominational bible camp where the sole purpose is to help young people enjoy an awesome time at camp and show them that God loves them and how to have fun in the beautiful outdoors that God had created for them. Mark and Debbie are part of BCM (Bible Centered Ministries) International, Canada. They left Middle Musquodoboit in the Spring of 2006 and took their family to Ontario, where they were trained in many areas of children’s camping ministry at their sister camp, Millstream Bible Camp.
Mark was raised in Musquodoboit Valley working most of his life with his family business, Taylor Lumber. Mark has been involved with Mount Traber for many years: as a camper, Sunday Schools, as Program Director for teens, as a member of the Christian Service Brigades and as a board member. After being placed at Mount Traber in August 2006, Mark and Debbie served for 2 years as missionaries in training then Mark was appointed Director in Nov. 2008.
Mark’s wife Debbie, has also been involved with Mount Traber most of her life as a camper, Program Director and Camp Counselor. Debbie continues to work full time alongside Mark at the camp as Administrator, Rental co-ordinator and Food Services.
Shanda (1995) and Austin (1997) worked right alongside their parents for many years. They have both graduated from high school and have left the nest. Austin lives in Enfield only 25 minutes away and works for MacKinnon and Olding – Marine and Industrial Contractors as a sandblaster and painter. Shanda lives in Bible Hill, 45 minutes away with Hunter (2015) and Bo (2017) and keeps very busy working for High Gloss Maintenance and being a mom. So yes, Mark and Debbie are also grandparents.
This summer (2019) will be Mark and Debbie’s 13th summer as full time missionaries at MTBC and feel so blessed in what the Lord has done for them and their family and say it is a GREAT privilege to be part of the Lords ministry here at MTBC.
Ethan Parker came to Mount Traber Bible Camp from Pubnico, NS in June 2014. After deciding that this is where the Lord wanted him he officially became a full time BCM Missionary in Sept. 2014 appointed to MTBC.
Before Ethan joined BCM / Mount Traber he attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Owen Sound, Ontario, completing
their 1 year program in 2011. Ethan also worked and volunteered at many other camps such as Word of Life Youth Camps, Camp Jordan and Smokey Trails Native Camp. When Ethan wasn’t busy at these camps he worked on a Mink Farm in Pubnico, helped with a Youth Group at Argyle Pubnico Baptist Church and attended Newellton United Baptist Church where his dad is the Pastor.
Since 2014 at MTBC Ethan oversees several aspects of the camp including Property Manager, working on the farm and ministering to teen guys through a youth retreat called MOI, Men Of Integrity. This retreat is put on every Spring and Fall and Ethan is the face of this great event.
In January 2017 Ethan was married and joined at the camp by his wife Eva and then also joined in October 2017 by a son, Thomas, and then a daughter in December 2018, Tirzah. Eva completed her Business Administration diploma in June 2017 and works from home as a part time bookkeeper and not to mention keeps very busy as a mommy and wife.
