Mark & Debbie Taylor

Mark and Debbie Taylor are BCM Missionaries assigned to direct Mount Traber Bible Camp. Mount Traber is a non-denominational Bible camp where the sole purpose is to help young people enjoy an awesome time at camp and show them that God loves them and how to have fun in the beautiful outdoors that God had created for them. They left Middle Musquodoboit in the Spring of 2006 and took their family to Ontario, where they were trained in many areas of children’s camping ministry at their sister camp, Millstream Bible Camp.

Mark was raised in Musquodoboit Valley working most of his life with his family business, Taylor Lumber. Mark has been involved with Mount Traber for many years: as a camper, Sunday Schools, as Program Director for teens, as a member of the Christian Service Brigades and as a board member. After being placed at Mount Traber in August 2006, Mark and Debbie served for 2 years as missionaries in training then Mark was appointed Director in Nov. 2008.

Mark’s wife Debbie has also been involved with Mount Traber most of her life as a camper, Program Director, and Camp Counselor. Debbie continues to work full time alongside Mark at the camp as Administrator, Rental co-ordinator, and Food Services.

Mark and Debbie have 2 children, their daughter Shands is 27 and their son Austin is 25. They have 3 grandchildren. A granddaughter, Hunter who is 7, and 2 grandson’s, Bo who is 5 and Rhett who is 3. When they are not playing with the grandchildren they enjoy taking small day trips on their motorcycle.

This summer (2023) will be Mark and Debbie’s 17th summer as full-time missionaries at MTBC and feel so blessed in what the Lord has done for them and their family and say it is a GREAT privilege to be part of the Lord’s ministry here at MTBC.

Daniel Grubb

Daniel Grubb is a 22-year-old BCM (Bible Centred Ministries) missionary and has been working full time at Mount Traber now 4 years (April 2019 – Present – 2023).

Daniel was born in Pennsylvania and is one of 4 children. He has an older sister (Katie) and two younger brothers (David and Derrick). Daniel was raised in a Christian home by his amazing parents (Shawn and Tina Grubb). Daniel’s dad is the Pastor of Maranatha Bible Church in Lycoming, Pennsylvania.

Between 2012 – 2018 Daniel volunteered at Mount Traber as a cabin leader and barn helper. He enjoyed it so much that, when asked by the camp director to move to the camp full time, he accepted happily. His plans after graduating High School were unclear, so it was an answer to prayer when Mark asked him to stay. Now he serves every day at camp as the Ranch Manager, growing spiritually through Christ while taking care of the horses, barn maintenance and projects, and the care of other barn animals.

On Dec. 28th, 2019, the Lord paved the way for Daniel to receive his work permit and stay at Mount Traber full time for 3 more years. Daniel is now awaiting the renewal of another 3-year work permit.

Daniel enjoys playing on the worship team at Peoples Church in Truro. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, kayaking, hiking, and camping. So, he is in the perfect place to be outdoors, and playing with his dog Bowser, especially here on Mount Traber’s 400 acres. He is also learning Farrier work which will be a great asset for him to have at the farm.

Josh & Ashlan Gerrior

Joshua and Ashlan Gerrior are the newest addition to the MTBC team. They were both born and raised in Nova Scotia and grew up attending Mount Traber Bible Camp during their summers. Ashlan became a Christian at Mount Traber when she was 10! The two met at camp as young teenage staff, worked along side each other for several years and then went on to be married at the camp in May 2022.

Josh and Ashlan oversee the program part of camp and help run the different year-round events and programs. Josh has a Bachelor of Theology from New Brunswick Bible Institute (NBBI) and Ashlan has a diploma of Child and Youth Care from Nova Scotia Community College.

As josh was completing his fourth year at NBBI in 2020, the two decided camp is where God was calling them to serve after they got married. Josh served as a full-time employee at the camp while Ashlan worked in a school while saving for the wedding. After the wedding they applied to become BCM missionaries, and the process began. In January of 2023, Josh and Ashlan attended candidate orientation in Pennsylvania and completed the process of becoming full time missionaries at the camp!

In Josh’s spare time he helps churches by providing pulpit supply. He also loves playing soccer and is learning the art of Bonsai. Ashlan enjoys walks and crafts. Together they enjoy movies, going on walks and ice skating. They take care of Ezra the camp cat and Pierre the bunny.
